Council on Aging invites all to after-lunch meet-the-candidates

The Council on Aging invites Westport voters to meet the candidates running for office in the upcoming town election at the COA's annual Candidates Forum on Wednesday, March 20. The program will start at 1 p.m. immediately following the March soup and sandwich luncheon. The only contested race is for the two open School Committee seats. The three candidates - incumbent Michelle Duarte along with contend- ers Melissa Pacheco and Nancy Rioux are all invited. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of the candi- dates. Candidates in the uncontested races have also been invited to come and introduce themselves. The ballot question regarding changing the position of the Highway Surveyor from elected to appointed will also be discussed. This is an opportunity to meet the candidates, ask questions and share concerns prior to the election. The town election will be held on April 9.
