Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Adeline (Farias) Benevides. Cora was a winder at the former Premier Thread Company, formerly in Bristol, for 24 years, retiring in 1983. She previously worked at the former US Rubber Company. A communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Cora loved cooking, singing, music and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Karen A. Guido, and her twins, Corrine E. Martin (Joseph) and Edward R. Guido, Jr., all of Bristol; four grandchildren, Courtney Rego (Michael), Ross DelToro, Lindsey Mello (Steven) and Edward Verna; and four great grandchildren, Olivia and Dylan Rego, Kyle DelToro and Milania Kate Mello. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph W. Guido; brothers Joseph, August, Alipio, Peter and Anthony Benevides; and sisters Kathleen “Cappy” Marino, Madeline Mitchell, Mary Amaral and Elsie Pastore.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 8, 9 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Bay Food Pantry, 150 Franklin St., Unit 5, Bristol, RI 02809, or online at www.eastbayfoodpantry.org
