Concerts, other events canceled or postponed


If you had plans to attend a concert, dance, gallery opening or other special event scheduled for Friday or Saturday, you may want to double-check with the venue before you head out into the snow. Several events have been canceled due to the blizzard forecast for Friday into Saturday.

Here’s a rundown of some events that are no longer happening. We’ll keeping updating this list as we receive more news. If you know of any cancellations that aren’t listed here, please let us know at


The Audubon Environmental Education Center in Bristol has canceled Preschool Story Time at 10 a.m. Friday and Bird Feeding 101 at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Linden Place concert

“A Concert of Italian Songs” featuring Michael DiMucci, scheduled for Friday night at Linden Place in Bristol, has been re-scheduled for Friday, Feb. 22. Call 401/253-0390 or visit for more information.

Concert at Sandywoods

Sandywoods Center for the Arts in Tiverton has canceled the Friday night concert featuring Run & Scurry.

Acoaxet Chapel supper

Acoaxet Chapel in Westport has postponed its Saturday, Feb. 9 pot luck supper and game show. It’s rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Imago exhibit

Imago Foundation for the Arts is rescheduling the artists’ reception for its Open Community exhibit to Friday, Feb. 15. Over 60 artists submitted work for the exhibit which is on display at IMAGO Gallery, 36 Market St., Warren, from Feb. 7 to March 2. The public is invited to a free reception from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 15. Regular gallery hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday and noon to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Open mic in Warren

The parking ban in Warren means the regular Friday night acoustic open mic at the Coffee Depot has been canceled.

Rehoboth events

The Rehoboth contra dance that was scheduled to take place Friday evening, Feb. 8, has been canceled. Also canceled is the Arts in the Village concert that was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9. It will be rescheduled for a future date.
