Cirillo: A lifetime of learning and understanding really matter

Posted

The person who effectively holds the office of Town Clerk must be a storehouse of knowledge and facts. You would be surprised to know how often complicated problems impacting someone’s life, the public at large, or even the Town itself are resolved by information found in the head or at the fingertips of the Town Clerk.

Anyone can be trained to issue birth certificates, look-up deeds, or share ordinances on-line. These tasks are easy and routine.

True value lies in understanding when and why something was done, and where and how to find a record of it. Greater value is in knowing why it matters.

I spent a lifetime learning and understanding about Bristol, and have studied everything about it. I know Town records like the back of my hand, and put these to work every day. I challenge anyone to convince you they can do the same.

Lou Cirillo

Mr. Cirillo is a Republican running for Bristol Town Clerk.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
