Charlotte A. Delaney, 68, Warren

Charlotte A. Delaney, 68, of Warren, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Miriam Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Gary L. Delaney.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Peterelli) Dorzi, she was a life-long area resident. Mrs. Delaney worked as a CNA for the Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and helping others. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and cherished having a full house.
She leaves a son, Gary L. Delaney II and his wife Danielle of North Providence, a daughter, Linda Rodrigues of Coventry, her sister, Judy Koger of Seekonk, and five grandchildren, Alexander, Garrett and Dominique Delaney and Tabitha and Carlos Rodrigues.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Hall at Kickemuit Village, 20 Libby Lane, Warren. Please omit flowers. Donations in her name may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services in Warren.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
