Calling Cyclists of All Abilities! Newman YMCA Hosts Annual Cycle for a Cause Fundraiser

Posted

Join the Newman YMCA for its annual Cycle for a Cause on March 24th! Cyclists of all abilities are invited to form teams of six, who will be challenged to not only keep their team’s bikes moving for three hours as they “travel” from New England and race towards the West, but also work together to raise $720 per team, the equivalent of sending three kids to summer camp.

Funds raised will directly impact the Newman YMCA and provide aid to members who otherwise would not be able to participate in the various programs offered at the YMCA.

The event is open to members and the public. To register, visit

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
