Bristol's Herreshoff Marine Museum opens for season this Sunday

The Herreshoff Marine Museum / America’s Cup Hall of Fame will open for the season on Sunday April 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Opening Day offers free admission and a variety of activities for all to enjoy.  The full Opening Day Schedule is listed below.  Come by, bring friends, and help us build enthusiasm about the Museum!

All Day Book Sale – the book sale will run all day and it will include rare books from the Museum’s collection.

All Day Store Sale – attendees will enjoy 15% off store merchandise.  Come early to scout our your Herreshoff gear and gifts in preparation for the coming season.

All Day Let’s Go Sailing! – learn about Herreshoff's sailing school programs for youth and adults.  Hear stories and successes from their sailing instructors.

All Day - Membership Desk  - New members who join on Opening Day will receive a $10 store gift certificate.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
