Bristol Theatre to stage 'High School Musical'

The jocks, thespians, brainiacs and skater dudes take to the stage this weekend when the Bristol Theatre Company presents "High School Musical" at Reynolds School.

Featured are Ethan Varvalhoof Bristol and Abby Moore of Portsmouth as twin thespians, Brian Mancieri of Bristol as the school jock, and Emily Fleet of Fall River, Mass., as the school brainiac.

The family-friendly production is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, July 31-Aug. 2; and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3-4., at Reynolds School, 235 High St.

Tickets can be reserved by calling the box office at 401-424-1315. Reservations are recommended.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
