Bristol Statehouse Foundation hosts 'Great Decisions'

Posted

Community members interested in discussing the major international issues facing the United States today are invited to participate in “Great Decisions.”

Sponsored in Bristol by the Bristol Statehouse Foundation, the open discussion sessions are at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Bristol Statehouse (second floor), High Street.

Topics for the fall session are:

  • Sept. 12 — “Humanitarian Intervention”
  • Oct. 10 — “Iran”
  • Nov. 14 — “China in Africa”
  • Dec. 12 — “Threat Assessment”

Although not required, a Great Decisions 2013 briefing book is $20 at www.fpa.org (click on Great Decisions). It provides background information on the discussion topics.

Each session features a short video, an open discussion and the completion of an opinion ballot. Results are forwarded to the Foreign Policy Association. Nationwide results from the dozens of Great Decisions discussion groups across the country are shared with national policymakers.
