Bristol readers on parade

Posted

The Dirtball Parade took over part of downtown Bristol today, as dozens of young readers marched around Hope and Thames streets.

The annual parade celebrates the culmination of the Rogers Free Library summer reading program for children. This year's theme for the program was "Dig Into Reading," which explored children's books about construction, digging and other dirt-related activities. The parade theme was named after the book, "Dirtball Pete," by Eileen Brennan.
