Medication and firearm take-back day is scheduled for April 29

The Bristol Police Department will once again be participating in the DEA’s National Pharmaceutical Take Back Day later this month.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Bristol Police Department, 395 Metacom Ave.
The event gives residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted and expired medicines anonymously and at no cost. The event includes only solid medications (pills and patches); the DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps.

At the same time, Bristol Police will be accepting unwanted firearms. All guns need to be unloaded, and transported in the trunk of a car. Residents are asked to leave the gun in the trunk; a Bristol Police officer will remove it. Guns can also be dropped off anonymously, and with no questions asked.

For more information on the drug take-back event, visit the DEA website.
