Bristol Police arrest two for drunk driving

In addition to chasing down a loose donkey and telling people to go inside and be quiet, Bristol police officers made a couple arrests from Feb. 12 to 18 — both for driving under the influence. 

Monday, Feb. 12

  • Officers helped corral a loose donkey in the Poppasquash area at 6:49 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 13

  • An officer dispersed a vehicle and its occupants from Narrows Point at 12:41 a.m.
  • Officers responded to a report of a suspicious man wearing a hooded sweatshirt climbing through a window in the back of a residence on Reservoir Avenue at 9:18 a.m. It turned out to be a homeowner who had forgotten his keys.
  • An officer dispersed a vehicle and the two men inside it, from the area of Terrace Drive and Hope Street at 6:11 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 14

  • A caller complained of loud individuals in the Poppasquash area of Colt State Park at 2:59 a.m. They were gone when officers arrived.
  • An officer dispersed people from the Mt. Hope Tee Pees area at 5:01 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 15

  • A motorist called police to report a State Street pothole that had damaged their car.

Friday, Feb. 16

  • Jarrod Latulipe, 28, of Swansea, was charged with DUI after being arrested at 1:35 p.m. on Hope Street.
  • An officer dispersed a man from the intersection of Wood Street and Franklin Street at 10:15 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 17

  • Officers dispersed a large group of people from Wood Street at 1:25 a.m.
  • Maille C. McCloskey, 31, of Swansea, was charged with DUI (second offense) at 1:30 a.m. on Wood Street.
  • Officers dispersed a large group of people from the intersection of Hope and Bradford streets at 10:07 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 18

  • After someone complained of noise at 5:14 p.m. on Monterey Road, a resident agreed to stop talking loudly and take it inside for the night.
  • Officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Ursula Drive at 6:36 p.m. It was verbal only.
  • A Sousa Street resident complained of loud music at 9:33 p.m. A responding officer found no evidence of loud music.
