Bristol Knights to host free throw event


Bristol Knights of Columbus Council 379 will be holding a Council Free Throw Championship on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Mt Hope High School gymnasium. Participants will compete in the following age divisions (based on their age on Jan. 1, 2013): Boys ages 10, 11, 12, 13, 14; Girls ages 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.

Boys’ and girls’ 10 and 11 year old divisions will compete with a regulation women's sized ball from a 12-foot foul line. Boys aged 12, 13 and 14 will compete from a 15-foot foul line with a men's regulation size basketball.  Girls aged 12, 13 and 14 will compete from a 15 foot foul line with a regulation women's sized basketball.

All competitors will receive three warm-up tosses followed by 15 consecutive free throws. All division winners (possibly 10) will advance to the next level.
