Bristol County Lions Club host annual pasta supper

On Friday, March 1st, the Bristol County Lions Club will have their 21st Annual Pasta Supper. It will be from 5 p.m. to 8p.m., at St. Michaels Parish Hall 399 Hope Street to benefit Down Syndrome Society of RI, Children with Cancer, and RI Sight First. Dinner will include a choice of seafood pasta or red sauce with meatballs, salad, bread, soda, coffee and desserts.  Adults are $10, children (under 12) $5. Children under 4 are free. Parking is available at the municipal parking lot on Court Street. There will be lots of raffles and door prizes, as well as entertainment by “Just Dance” group. Free eye screening will be available. Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
