Bristol, go solar, and help yourself and your community

For the second time in two years, the Town of Bristol has been selected to participate in the Solarize Rhode Island Program. The program lasts through March of 2018.

The special partnership program to stimulate small-scale (residential) solar (Photovoltaic) (PV) electricity, utilizing a special discounted tiered pricing structure, creates large savings for (Bristol) residents who sign contracts.

The more Bristol residents who sign up, the greater the savings (discounts) for everyone. Bristol residents can sign up at: www.SolarizeRI.com/Bristol. Bristol has partnered with SunWatt Solar for this initiative.

As the public ambassador for the previous successful Solarize Bristol campaign back in 2016, I am very happy to recommend it once again and encourage residents to explore the opportunity. This is our chance, Bristol, to once again, “Go Green!”

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
