A 13-year-old Kickemuit Middle School student is facing a possession of cocaine charge, after staff allegedly witnessed drug activity in a hallway last Thursday, Nov. 1, and called police.

Police responded to the school after school staff reported seeing two juveniles possibly engaged in drug activity. Staff members seized a quantity of white powder suspected to be cocaine, and officers officers who responded interviewed two students and confirmed the presence of the drug. As a result one of the students was charged with possession. He was released to the custody of his parents and an appearance in Rhode Island Family Court is pending.
