Becky Chace, Neal and the Vipers rock Independence Park Tuesday

Posted

One of the most popular musicians in the Fourth of July Concert Series makes her return to Independence Park Tuesday, followed by another popular local band making its Bristol debut as the concert series rocks the waterfront Tuesday night.

The following bands are scheduled to perform:

The Becky Chace Band

Tuesday, June 27, 6:30 p.m.
Roots rocker Becky Chace will knock you over with her voice and her longtime sidekick Brian Minisce will help you get back up and stand at attention. Their vast catalog of original music is authentic, eclectic, and honest. Becky covers artists as diverse as Irving Berlin, Johnny Cash and Men at Work. She’s tough to pin down in terms of style; she’s that kind of musician who can’t help but go in different directions, a throwback to the artists of the 1960s and 70s who had intimate acoustic country ballads on the same records with blues rock and pop.

With her band, she’s opened concerts and festival shows for such acts as B.B. King, America, Keb Mo, Melissa Etheridge and Joan Jett. Receiving critical acclaim for her recordings, Becky’s proven to be a very prolific songwriter, having released nine CDs. Chosen Best Female Vocalist five times by the readers of the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll, Becky has been called one of the most celebrated singer/songwriters to come out of the RI area.

Neal and The Vipers

Tuesday, June 27, 7:45 p.m.
Neal Vitullo is one of the foremost blues guitarists in the country. The Vipers have appeared at so many venues and with so many national acts, it would be difficult to list them. It’s been a long time coming but finally Neal and The Vipers are appearing at the Concert Series for the first time. Their show is a pleasing mix of originals and covers that will thoroughly entertain any audience.

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
