Posted

The assistant to the town clerk in Barrington, Meredith DeSisto, will step in as the next town clerk at the start of September.

On Friday, Barrington Town Manager Peter DeAngelis announced that Ms. DeSisto would serve as the successor to Linda James, who has served as the town clerk for the last three years. Ms. James replaced Lorraine Derois.

According to an e-mail sent by Mr. DeAngelis on Friday, Ms. DeSisto has been employed in the town clerk’s office for eight years in part-time and full-time positions. For the past three years, she has served as full-time assistant to the town clerk.

The town manager reportedly conducted a selection process for the next town clerk, and received 30 résumés from interested individuals.
