Barrington yoga studio offers 'Give a Can, Get a Class'


Anyone looking to get a beginner’s lesson in yoga and help local families this holiday season should plan on stopping by Freedom Yoga this week.

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, Saturday, Dec. 1 and Tuesday, Dec. 4, the studio will offer a free yoga lesson to anyone who stops by with a canned good. Paula Anderson will teach the classes, which she said  are aimed at beginners.

All canned goods collected will be donated to TAP-IN.

The Tuesday lessons each run from 7:30-8:30 p.m. while the Saturday sessios is from 10:45-11:45 a.m.

Freedom Yoga is located at 286 Maple Avenue.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
