Barrington waterfront with a dock of your own

Posted

This lovely waterfront home at 35 Bourne Lane in Barrington, in the Adams Point neighborhood, enjoys amazing saltwater views out towards Narragansett Bay and across the Barrington River to Warren's Jacobs Point and the protected Audubon property on the north end of Bristol.

This new and magnificent home has four bedrooms with five bathrooms and one half-bath, a chef's kitchen with Viking stainless steel appliances, and master suites on both the first and second floors. Additional amenities include marble-tiled baths, central air conditioning, a dock, and hardwood floors throughout, as well as a beautiful setting in the midst of mature and flowering landscaping.

The town of Barrington is one of the more desirable in the region, with highly-regarded schools and a solid tax base drawing young families to town. Very convenient for the Providence commuter, Barrington's proximity to Interstate 95 as well as both Amtrak and MBTA train service makes Boston an easy commute as well. Despite ease of access to urban centers, Barrington enjoys plenty of open space, unspoiled shoreline, a large boating community and a popular town beach.

Recreational opportunities, from the East Bay Bike Path to world class golfing are very close at hand, and popular clubs, including the Barrington Yacht Club, the Rhode Island Country Club, the Agawam Hunt Club, and the Kendbrin Swim Club are either right in town or very close by.

Barrington's downtown, anchored by a thriving shopping center and state-of-the-art library, provides virtually every good and service you might need — though additional shopping is within a few miles' drive, making it convenient to live the life you have always dreamed without needing to wander far from home.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
