Barrington Town Hall spooked by unexpected visitor

The Barrington Town Hall employee thought it was a leaf.

The town worker and Bristol resident was walking out the town hall's rear door at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, when he saw what he thought was leaf stuck to the outside of the door.

But when the man tried to brush the "leaf" off the door he quickly realized it was something else — a bat.

The police department's animal control officer and personnel from the state Department of Environmental Management stopped by the town hall and visited with the municipal employee as a precaution.

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
