Barrington Town Council meets tonight


The Barrington Town Council meets tonight at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at town hall.

The meeting is an hour earlier than usual with a slew of interviews on the agenda including conservation commission, harbor commission, housing board of trustees and park and recreation commission, among other groups.

The town council is also scheduled to interview for an upcoming vacancy on the Bristol County Water Authority Board of Directors.

The agenda also includes several other BCWA items including a monthly report by board chairman Allan Klepper and a resolution supporting changes to the agency's enabling legislation.

The evening's agenda also includes an annual audit presentation and a resolution on criteria for the town's honor roll.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
