Teens say the man tried to block them from walking down the road

Some teenagers were walking on Fountain Avenue in Barrington at about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, when they were approached by an older man walking his pet Rottweiler.

The man reportedly stuck out his arm and told the teens that they could not go down that street. The teenagers found the man's behavior odd, but managed to walk past him and his dog. As they passed, however, the man reached out and put his hand on one of the teenagers.

The group of young people kept walking and soon noticed that the man was following them. In addition, the man was reportedly ordering his dog to bite the teens, although he kept the dog on-leash. The dog did not follow his orders, but the teens were rattled by the incident.

Eventually a nearby resident noticed what was going on and intervened, and the teens were able to leave the area.

Police are trying to track down the older man involved in the incident.
