Barrington store's bathroom situation yields police response

Posted

On Saturday, Nov. 16, Barrington police responded to the CVS Pharmacy on County Road after an employee there witnessed suspicious behavior by a customer.

The employee told police the customer purchased one syringe then asked to use the store bathroom. The customer had reportedly been in the bathroom for a long period of time, which prompted the call.

When police arrived they ordered the man to open the bathroom door; the individual later told police that while he was in the bathroom he had crushed up a prescription opiate and injected it into himself, using the syringe he had just purchased.

Police checked the syringe but could find no evidence of the drug and released the Providence man.
