Barrington Stagemasters present 'Sleepy Hollow'; show opens March 21

Posted

Audience members should expect a few good scares at this weekend’s Barrington High School production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod and the Headless Horseman.”

Stephanie L. Spaziano said the Stagemasters have visited several haunted attractions over the years, and have received backstage tours of the facilities in order to see how the special effects in these haunted attractions are accomplished.

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod and the Horseman” will allows the technical theater students an opportunity to put what they learned from these tours into practice, Ms. Spaziano said.

The play tells the tale of how school teacher Ichabod Crane comes to Sleepy Hollow and the less than enthusiastic greeting he receives from the town.

Also, representatives from the Barrington Education Foundation will be at the Saturday performance to award the performing arts department with grant money to pay for new lighting equipment in the auditorium.

The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 21 to 23. All shows are at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
