According to police, the resident had noticed his car’s engine had been running rough and he had noticed the car’s check engine light go on recently.

The resident also told police he had called and made an appointment to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic. But before the car’s service date arrived, a fire broke out inside the engine compartment in the 1999 silver Volvo.

Flames tore through the car, destroying the front end of the vehicle and some of the passenger compartment.

No one was injured during the blaze.
