A Barrington resident called police late Thursday night, June 22, after he spotted a man enter his car.
It was about 11:45 p.m. when the resident heard a car going up and down Stanley Avenue, where he lives. He looked outside and saw an SUV rolling slowly down the road.
The resident told police a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt got out of the SUV and entered a car parked outside the home. The resident yelled at the man, who then jumped back in his SUV and fled the area.
Police searched for the SUV but could not locate it. A resident on Wallis Avenue also told police someone had broken into his car this night.
Barrington police have investigated a handful of larcenies from motor vehicles over the past few weeks.
