Barrington resident reprimanded for illegal dumping
Police: Man tried to dump trash behind DPW
A Barrington resident was taught a lesson about illegal dumping late last week.
Police received a call on Friday morning, Aug. 10, from an official at the Barrington Department of Public Works. The DPW worker said a Barrington man had dumped a load of trash and other debris behind the public works building on Upland Way, but a worker from the Lynch Construction Company (the contractor is doing some work in town) had spotted the illegal dumping. The Lynch worker confronted the Barrington man about the situation.
Police later tracked down the Barrington man; he tried to downplay the issue. Police told the man it is illegal to dump trash at the DPW property. An officer then issued the man a no-trespassing order for the Upland Way facility.
