Barrington police respond to threats from Maine man

Posted

A 19-year-old Barrington resident contacted police on Wednesday, March 12, after he received threatening text messages from a 22-year-old Maine man.

The Barrington teen said he was dating the Maine man’s ex-girlfriend, which reportedly led to the texts; the messages stated that the Maine man was going to kill the Barrington teenager.

Police contacted the Maine resident who said he did not send the texts and did not know who did. He said he had gotten drunk at a party and believes that someone else took his phone without permission and sent the texts.
