Barrington police looking for bookstore thief

A woman with dark hair wearing black clothes reportedly stole more than $5,000 worth of Alex and Ani jewelry from Barrington Books on Tuesday, May 28. Police are looking for any information about the suspect.

According to police detectives, the woman in black entered the store a little before 1:30 p.m. and was captured on surveillance footage taking approximately 160 pieces of jewelry and placing them into her purse before leaving the store without paying for them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Benjamin Ferreira at 401-437-3930.
