Barrington police: Boy pulled girl’s hair at middle school

A Barrington resident stopped into the police station on Thursday afternoon, March 6, to report an assault at the middle school.

The resident said a male student at the school had been pulling his daughter’s hair on multiple occasions. He said the boy actually pulled out some of her hair.

In addition, the resident said the same boy had struck his daughter in the leg several times with a piece of sports equipment. Those alleged assaults took place during gym class. The resident said that when his daughter notified the teacher of the incident, the teacher told the girl to sit out that class.

Police said that school officials are dealing with the situation.
