Barrington police arrest skinny dipper in center of town

A Barrington man is facing a disorderly conduct charge after he swam naked in a small pond in the center of town on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

According to police, 22-year-old Barrington man Daniel McMillan slipped out of his clothes and into Wood’s Pond — the small body of water located near the Barrington Public Library building on County Road — at about 6 p.m.

Someone saw Mr. McMillan standing naked inside the gazebo at the pond and called police.

By the time the local police officers arrived at Wood’s Pond, Mr. McMillan was sitting on a bench near the pond wearing only a green t-shirt. Officers told Mr. McMillan to cover his genitals with the shirt, which he did.

Asked what happened, Mr. McMillan reportedly laughed and told officers that he had gone for a swim. The Barrington resident also allegedly admitted to drinking beer and ingesting angel dust earlier in the day.

Officers charged Mr. McMillan with disorderly conduct-indecent exposure. Rescue personnel transported Mr. McMillan to a hospital for detox.
