Barrington offers plenty to do this Saturday

Posted

Saturday should be a busy day in Barrington, especially for people with young children. Following is a quick list of events planned for April 27:

1. Barrington Little League opening day with a visit from former Red Sox second baseman Lou Merloni; according to league officials, Merloni will likely arrive later in the event and will help hand out contest award winners.

2. Barrington's Mary Jane Begin (see photo) will be signing copies of her new book "My Little Pony: Under the Sparkling Sea" at Barrington Books from 1 to 4. There will also be face-painting and free giveaways to the children at the event.

3. Red Brick School is hosting its annual Kidlympics from 3 to 6 p.m. For more information on the fun-filled event,  check www.redbrickschoolri.org

And 4. Bayside YMCA is having its Healthy Kids Day. The annual event always draws a crowd and is lots of fun for youngsters. For more information give the YMCA a call at 245-2444.
