The Barrington softball team lost to Prout 5-1 in the Division II championship at RIC on Wednesday night. Prout pitcher Vanessa Oatley no hit the Eagles in game one on Monday and was nearly as good again as she two hit the Eagles and gave up just one earned run.

Barrington pitcher Paige Concannon pitched well, but the Eagles had one costly inning in the bottom of the third and Prout took advantage. Prout three hitter Colby Crosby singled up the middle driving in 2 runs for a 2-0 Prout lead. Then Grace Bragno walloped a ball to deep center field well over the head of Eagles junior Maia Angela Villarica for a 2 run triple to make it 4-0.

Paige Concannon was hurt in ther fifth inning when Oatley lined a hit off Concannon's knee. Concannon dropped to the ground as the ball ricocheted into left field for a hit.

Concannon was visibly in pain as coaching staff determined whether she could stay in the game. She got up and threw a few pitches and decided that she could pitch. She finished the game with 8 strike outs, 6 hits and 3 walks.
