Barrington house fire on Sowams Road caused by chemical reaction

A Sowams Road home was the scene of a minor structure fire on Tuesday night, June 4, according to a Barrington police and fire dispatcher.

Officials responded to the fire shortly before 8 p.m. According to the dispatcher, a chemical reaction in the garage of the home at 59 Sowams Road led to the fire. The dispatcher said there was minimal damage — mostly smoke damage — at the home.
