KINGSTON—The Barrington Girls Basketball team lost to North Kingstown, 41-39, in the Division I State Championship at the University of Rhode Island's Ryan Center on Saturday evening. North Kingstown forward and game MVP, Taylor Buckley, hit a right-handed jumper and broke a 39-39 tie with 10 seconds left in the game. Barrington junior guard Sarah Middleton took an inbound pass, dribbled up court and was fouled while launching a jumper near the three-point line. Middleton the Eagles high scorer with 15-points on the night was named the Credit Union Player of the Game for Barrington for her courageous play in the final. Middleton missed the first free throw with seconds left in the game. After a time-out called by head coach Stephen Lenz, Middleton bounced her second shot off the rim hoping to connect with Maura Kelty who was charging in from the right side, but the ball bounded over her head as time ran out for the Eagles. Senior captain Maura Kelty scored 13-points and junior forward Grecia Restituyo netted 8.
