Barrington High School student-athletes will be going door-to-door on Saturday, Sept. 23 as part of the annual Barrington Booster Day fund-raiser.

The event is a membership drive which raises money for local student-athletes, recognitions and awards, sports equipment for the high school and middle school, as well as maintenance of the Booster Board and Eagles' Nest concession stand.

Following are some of the purchases made possible through support of the Booster Club: lacrosse and soccer goals, boys hockey practice pants, Community Scholarship Fund donation, the middle school wrestling program, the JP Medeiros Memorial Hockey Scholarship, iPad software of volleyball, Victory Field and Eagles' Nest signs, folding chairs with new logo for the gym, and many more.

For more information contact Tom Rimoshytus at 465-1842 or booster@bpsmail.org and send a check to Barrington Boosters Club, Inc., Box 232, Barrington RI 02806.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
