Barrington bicyclist struck by car, injured

Barrington police received a 911 call at about 7:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Officers responded to the area of 94 County Road where they found a 21 year-old resident in rough shape. The man had scrapes all over his body, including on his head.

He told police he was riding his bicycle near the intersection of County Road and the bike path when a car’s bumper struck his bicycle. He reportedly crashed in the middle of the road. The man then returned to his bike and tried to pedal away, but could only make it to 94 County Road where he stopped and called for help.

Police said the man was unable to identify the vehicle that struck his bicycle, although he said the motorist did not stop to help. A rescue transported the man to the hospital for treatment.

Anyone with more information should call police at 437-3930.
