Barrington beach closed to swimmers

The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended the closure of Barrington Town Beach to swimming due to high bacteria counts late Friday afternoon, July 12.

Officials will reportedly make a recommendation regarding suitability for swimming at Barrington Town Beach when the areas are determined to be safe.

Beach status may change on a daily basis. For up-to-date information about swimming at Rhode Island beaches, call (401) 222-2751 or visit www.health.ri.gov/beaches to use HEALTH’s interactive beach map.
