The Barrington 9-10 Minors All Star team is one game away from the District 2 finals.

Barrington shut out Newport 9-0 in an elimination bracket game on Tuesday night, and is scheduled to play against Rumford in the elimination bracket finals on Friday.

Barrington's Otis Crosby pitched five innings without allowing a single hit by Newport, and Lucas Tanous came in to pitch the sixth inning and also did not allow a single hit.

T Shapiro drove in two runs with a double to power Barrington's offense.

Barrington manager Scott Carroll said his team has been playing "smart 'small' ball baseball … base-running, fielding, hitters are working pitch counts."

Rumford fell into the elimination bracket after losing to Riverside 12-5 on Tuesday.
