Antonia Almeida (Oliveira) Costa, 88, of Bristol


Antonia Almeida (Oliveira) Costa, 88, of Jones Street passed away on March 7th at Newport Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Manuel DaPonte Costa.

Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, she was the daughter of the late Jose d’Oliveira and Antonia (d’Almeida) Costa.   She was the mother of Maria Viveiros and Angie Rebelo; grandmother of Carol Velo, Linda Viveiros, Steven Rebelo, Anthony Rebelo; great grandmother of Ashley La Flash, Adam La Flash, Brittney Vento, Samantha Cassidy, Jonathan Mc Kay, Denisha Rebelo and Steven Rebelo.  She was the sister of the late Antionio Oliveira.

Antonio was employed as an assembler at Hasbro for 20 years before retiring.

Her funeral services were held March 12th from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Luis Garcia Dutra at St. Elizabeth Church.  Liturgical readings were by Ashley La Flash and Brittany Vento.  The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Samantha Cassidy.  Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Antonio Velho, Joseph Viveiros, Steven Rebelo, Adam La Flash, Paul Braz and Christopher de Sousa.
