CRANSTON — Brisk sales have caused the PowerBall jackpot to jump from $290 million to $300 million for the Saturday, Aug. 3, drawing. It could get even higher before then.

The jackpot has now rolled 11 times with no winner.  The cash option is an estimated $172.7 million.  The largest Powerball jackpot was $590.5 million, won in Florida in May 2013.

RILot announced Friday, Aug. 2, a $40,000 PowerBall PowerPlay ticket sold in Rhode Island for last Saturday's drawing (July 28) remained unclaimed.  The ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 2200 Pawtucket Ave. in East Providence.
