Anne (Texeira Vasconcellos) Francis 83, of Franklin St passed away on January 4th at South County Hospital. Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Delphina (Texeira Raposa) Vasconcellos. She attended Bristol schools and worked in manufacturing for I Shalom, Converse and Transcom for many years before retiring in 1994.

She is survived by her daughter Maryann Crellin and her husband Bob of Narragansett, RI and grandsons Edward and William Crellin. She was the sister of the late Anthony Vasconcellos, Phoebe Medeiros and Mae Perry.

Her funeral services were held Wednesday from the George Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev Jared Constanza at St. Elizabeth Church. Liturgical readings were by Sister Mary Reilly and William Crellin who also read the Prayer of the Faithful.  The offertory gifts were presented by Edward Crellin, Alexis Scangas and William Crellin. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
