Almeda Dupont, 96, Tiverton

Almeda Dupont, 96, formerly of Hooper Street and Judson Street, Tiverton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Southpointe.

Born in Tiverton, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Viera) and Manuel Dupont.  Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a presser at the former Harlee & Lowenstein's of Fall River.

She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish.  She was a member of the Tiverton Senior Center and a sang with the Choral Group there. She was also a member of the Tiverton Seniors at the fire station.

She is survived by a sister, Genevieve Barboza of Tiverton, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Viveiros, Frank Dupont, Joseph Dupont, Rose Aguiar and John Dupont.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, with a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Ghost Church.  Burial will be at Pocasset Hill Cemetery.  www.almeida-pocasset.com  Donations may be made the The Tiverton Senior Center 207 Canonicus St, Tiverton, RI 02878.
