Alexandre H. Goulart Jr., 91, Little Compton

Alexandre H. Goulart Jr., 91 of Little Compton, died on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.  He was the husband of Lois A. (Guptill) Goulart.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Cremilde (Sousa) and Alexandre Goulart.

Mr. Goulart had worked as an inspector for the state of Rhode Island, Department of Roads and Bridges.  He had served in the US Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 0037.  He was a Past Master Mason with St. Alban's Lodge #6 F. & A.M.  He was a member of the Sakonnet Lodge with the Odd Fellow Independent Order #39.  Mr. Goulart had appeared in the movie filmed in Maine entitled "Signs of Life."

He is also survived by his children, Richard Goulart, Thomas Goulart, Peter Goulart, Lisa Crain, Linda Goulart, Luanne Nevitt and Lizbeth Bailey.  He was the father of the late Alexandre Goulart III.  He also leaves 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton.  www.almeida-pocaset.com
