Alan 'Bruce' White, 69, Westport


Alan “Bruce” White, 69, of Westport passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at St. Anne’s Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Westport, the son of Frances D. (Sheehan) White and the late James B. White, he was a lifelong resident of Westport.  Mr. White was a fisherman for various fishing boats out of Westport Point and Alaska.

Including his mother, survivors include a son, David White of Fall River; two daughters, Patricia A. Tavares of Fall River and Becky S. White of Fall River;  two step-sons, Thomas and Steven Carreiro of New Port Richey, Fla.; two brothers, Robert E. White of Walpole and John D. White of Westport; five sisters, Florence Jaffe of Dartmouth, Janet White of Dartmouth, Linda White of Seattle, Paula Renaud of Westport, Cynthia Howland of Dartmouth and Deborah Lanctot of New Hampshire; five grandchildren, Eric, Jeremy, Matthew, Paige and Brendan; three granddaughters; a great grandson, Kaelub; and several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Jay, Richard and Jeffrey White.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.
