Adelard LaPane Jr., Warren

Adelard J. “Del” LaPane Jr. died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.  He was the husband of the late Florence A. (Dufour) LaPane.

Born in Warren, a son of the late Adelard J. LaPane Sr. and Marie (LaJeunesse) LaPane, he was a carpenter by trade and built homes in Warren over the years.

He leaves a brother, William LaPane of Warren, and was the brother of the late Armand and George LapPane and Clairida Miranda.

A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, with a Mass of CHristian burial following at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave.  Burial will follow in the North Burial Ground in Bristol.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 9376, Framingham, MA  01701-9376.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
