A Party for the Peregrines in Riverside

Posted

The Peregrine Falcon is a true success story, coming back from the brink of extinction. For over a decade, a pair has chosen to call Providence home, nesting and fledgeing young each year atop the “Superman Building” at 111 Westminster Street. A Party for the Peregrines will include live and silent auctions as well as creative cocktails and sumptuous hors d’oeuvres.  All of Audubon’s live raptors will be presented during the evening, as will the Providence Peregrine Webcam. Proceeds will support the Audubon Raptor Care and Rescue Programs, Raptors in Schools, Audubon Providence Peregrine Webcam, and Raptor Weekend. Funds raised will also help to protect thousands of acres of valuable habitat for these birds and other creatures.

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
