Burr's Hill courts to get facelift

The tennis courts at Burr’s Hill will get a face lift thanks to a$63,481 grant just secured from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

The grant, which requires a $5,000 ‘match’ in services from the town and also includes a donation from the United States Tennis Association, will go to renovate and re-line the courts at Burr’s Hill. The re-lining will allow the courts to not only be used for tennis, but also the increasingly popular game of ‘pickle ball.’

Warren Town Planner Kate Michaud said the project is a partnership between Warren and the United States Tennis Association. There is no timeline for the work to start, as the grant paperwork must be completed, the project specs drawn up and the work sent out to bid.
