Warren police logs: Woman charged with embezzlement

Monday, May 23
Police got a call about a neighborhood dispute on Arlington Avenue.
Judith Tobin, 52, of Swansea, was charged with embezzlement/fraudulent conversion over $100. Police said they are still investigating the case and declined to comment on the nature of the alleged offense.
A neighborhood dispute drew police to Highview Avenue. It stemmed from a sign being left on a lawn.
Someone stole an iPod from a car parked overnight on Child Street.
Police were called to Westminster Street for a woman who was “out of control.”
Tuesday, May 24
Someone vandalized a traffic sign on Main Street.
Police got a call from a commuter, who saw a car with open passenger side door traveling west on Child Street.
A Market Street resident reported receiving harassing texts and phone calls.
Items were reported stolen from an apartment and car on Child Street, a caller complained.
A Church Street woman reported a computer scam.
A caller complained about a person in an SUV dumping bags of trash near the Swansea line.
A Munro Avenue reported an “out of control” family member.
A Child Street resident told police that someone hacked his computer.
SA woman reported receiving harassing calls and texts from her granddaughter’s father.
Wednesday, May 25
Joshua A. Clark
, 31, of Tiverton, was arrested on a warrant issued by Sixth Division District Court in Providence.
A Child Street man told police that someone littered in his yard.
A Metacom Avenue business reported a rubber check.
Police went to Franklin Street to deal with a report of an unruly juvenile.
A Water Street resident reported being threatened on Facebook.
Thursday, May 26
A car struck a deer on Market Street; police notified DEM.
Someone reported an ATV driving down Massasoit.
A caller found a bone off Union Street; it turned out not to be human.
Rachael A. Borges, 41, of 60 Franklin St., was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to her home for a 911 hangup call.
Friday, May 27
Someone found several “baby bunnies” on Kinnicutt Avenue. They were handed over to a wildlife expert in Jamestown.
A woman said she was afraid to go back to her apartment on Libby Lane because of scamming telephone callers.
Police got a call about a man yelling at traffic on Main Street.
A loud music call came in from Federal Street.
John J. Soto, 34, of 55 Croade St., third floor, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to his house for a disturbance.
Saturday, May 28
Police pulled over a driver on Child Street just before 3 a.m., after noticing that she did not have her headlights on. The woman told police she’d just purchased the car and the lack of lights was inadvertent.
A Child Street woman called police, asking them to remove her ex.
Sunday, May 29
A neighborhood dispute drew police to Baker Street.
Police called in a bee keeper after getting a report of a swarm on Terrace Avenue.
Omar Calderon, 32, of Woonsocket, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license and failure to stop at an accident, after an accident on Child Street and Metacom Avenue just before 6 p.m. Witnesses said Mr. Calderon fled on foot; Swansea police caught up with him on Spruce Street.
A man and woman were reported screaming on Kinnicutt Avenue.
